I can listen to angry songs, because there's something cathartic about them, but the sad, mournful ones get to me too much. -

Thu, August 30, 2007 - 4:42 PMI'm just the opposite. The mournful songs work for me, probably because I'm not in a mournful place in my life, but the angry songs overwhelm me.
Ne Me Quitte Pas strikes me as her quintessential mournful song, but many of the others mentioned here are high on my list.
I heard Miss Simone's rendition of "The Look of Love" for the first time some months ago, and was gobsmacked. -
